Lutheran Seminarians Do Not Support Task Force Recommendations

The statement is online and other sympathetic Lutheran seminarians can sign on as well.

a concern

I am an ELCA seminary student and I have signed the petition. My concern is this; it seems that this is a petition for ELCA seminary students to sign in response to the ELCA's News Service coverage and over the top headline concerning another groups of seminarians and a document they wrote. It seems, as I look at the signatures, that many are not seminarians and perhaps, from some of the comments, not even ELCA Lutherans. Is there a way to police this so only seminarians may sign? Please understand that I as a seminarian appreciate the support but this seems to be a document for seminarians to sign in response to an unfair headline making us seem as if we are all of one mind on these ministry recommendations. If non seminarians which to support this position then they might be better served to sign the Open Letter that can also be found on this website. Please advise.
