The Spring 2009 issue of Lutheran Forum and the March 2009 issue of Forum Letter will both pay tribute to the late Richard John Neuhaus, former editor of Forum Letter.

In Lutheran Forum, Robert Benne focuses on the public influence of Neuhaus, while John Hannah gives a more intimate look at Neuhaus the parish pastor.

In an expanded 16-page Forum Letter contributors Russell Saltzman, Gilbert Meilaender, James Nuechterlein, Charles Austin, Richard Koenig, and Larry Bailey provide personal remembrances, along with some of the “best of” quotes from the years (1974-1990) when Neuhaus served as editor of Forum Letter.

The folks at the ALPB office were good enough to sell me the spring issue of Lutheran Forum and Forum Letter. My sincere thanks go to all who prepared these materials. The love for Fr. Richard and respect for his amazing accomplishment that is laced through the pages touched me deeply.
With gratitude,
Glenn Richter
